Alt Summit: Everything from A to Z Print Recipe Print Recipe

What I learned from A to Z at Alt Summit

A book is the most expensive business card ever.

Be kind to yourself. It’s a lot of information to take in & can be overwhelming, but be patient. You’ll get there.

Creative projects are awesome because they introduce your audience to another aspect of your creative identity.

Don’t take an advertiser that isn’t a good fit. Be picky. Learn to say no.

Embrace the fire within you -  Anne Sage

Find a publisher who will put time, energy, and effort into you and your book -  Design Sponge

Growing your readership: 1. original content 2. posting consistency 3. professional look 4. join communities

High heels are a must when you’re 5’4″. possibly 5’3″…

If you’re focusing too much on blog stats & obsessing, you’re putting too much energy in the wrong place.

Joslyn Taylor is beautiful, inside and out.

Keep it real – Jasmine Star

Look out, the sock bun trend made it to alt!

Make it happen. No one else is going to do it for you.

Never ever air your dirty laundry online.

Organize. Set up a weekly blog post schedule & post frequently.

Pinterest’s goal is to get you offline and inspire you to do the things you love – Ben Silberman, Founder of Pinterest

Quality over Quantity.

Roommates are the best. They help you decide on the perfect outfit, listen to your stress case story and the BEST OF THE BEST – they hunt down the best gluten-free joint in town.

Shutterbean is just as cool [if not cooler] in real life as she is on her blog.

Try something new & be okay with failing at it.

Uncle Beefy is the shit MAN!

Victoria and I both wore a bright pink flower of the first day. I felt kinda cool. Then she passed out tattoos of her logo. Brilliant!

Wine for four days straight AND high altitude. Advice: Pack advil.

Xanax. what??

You can be anything, but not everything. – David Allen

Zzzzz. . . you will do a lot of this when you return home.

It was so wonderful to see a lot of my friends and of course, make a few new ones. Thank you ALL for an amazing experience and already counting down for Alt 2013!
